Dental Exam

Routine dental examinations are an integral part of an individual’s overall health. Only a dentist can diagnose issues involving your teeth and gums. At Stratford Dental we recommend a ‘check-up’ of an existing patient 1-2 times per year. At each visit an oral cancer screen is conducted to detect any signs and symptoms of oral cancer. Oral cancer can be fatal and is often asymptomatic in nature. Any issue or problem in the mouth has a more favourable outcome if detected at its early stages such as cavities, periodontal disease (‘gum and bone disease’), or oral cancer.

Note: Even patients with complete dentures should visit a dentist on a regular interval. Oral cancer can present on the soft tissues that dentures rest upon even without one knowing.
